NEW TAIPEI CITY, Taiwan — David E. Horton, 64, passed away on Jan. 27, 2016, at Cardinal Tein Hospital in Xin Vain, Taiwan. He was born on June 10, 1951, in Minneapolis, Minn. He attended school in Great Bend until his junior year in high school and graduated from Medicine Lodge High school in 1969. He worked as an over-the-road truck driver until his retirement in 2015. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends.
He served in the United States Air Force from 1970 to 1974 where he met his wife Sushai of 40 years.
Survivors include his wife of Taiwan; two daughters, Sulin Horton of Taiwan and her sons Anthony of the United States and Merium of North Tensa, Africa; and Amy Gonzalez and husband Luciano and sons Deajah, Amen, Luciano Jr. and Arturo, all of Chicopee, Mass.; two brothers, Donald Horton and wife Patricia of Hoisington and Frank and Wife Lola of Salina; and one sister, Lillian Feldt and husband Joe of Hoisington.
A memorial service will be held on Feb. 13, in Taiwan. There will be no burial as cremation has taken place. Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association.
