SOUTH HUTCHINSON — Denise Lee Hayden, 53, died Jan. 25 at the Mennonite Friendship Manor. She was born June 14, 1957, in Great Bend, the daughter of Leo L. and Bertie Lou (Siefkes) Hayden. She worked seven years as a management analyst for the federal government in Frankfort, Germany, and also worked for the city of Hutchinson. She was a 1975 graduate of St. John High School, and received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from KSU.

She was baptized and confirmed into the Peace United Church of Christ, Hudson.

Survivors include both parents, of Seward; a sister, Connie Sue Schmidt, Wichita; and a niece, Megan Schmidt, Wichita.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church, Great Bend, with the Rev. Tom Sheldon presiding. Visitation will be from 1-8 p.m. on Friday, with the family present from 6-8, at the Minnis Chapel in St. John. Burial will be in the Peace Cemetery, Hudson, at a later date. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Hospice of Reno Co. in care of the funeral home.
