MCPHERSON — Dorothy Kirmer, 95, died Oct. 14, 2011 at The Cedars in McPherson.
She was born July 16, 1916 at McCracken, the daughter of Peter Moeder and Martha Werner Moeder.
The McPherson resident formerly resided in Ellinwood for more than 50 years. She worked as a receptionist for Dr. E.E. Slough of Ellinwood. She married John J. Kirmer Aug. 2, 1937 at Odin. He died Oct. 6, 1975.
Survivors include her daughters, Patricia Herter and her husband James, McPherson; Elaine Kreie and her husband William, Ulysses, five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brothers Sylvester and Ben Moeder, a sister Salome Reif, and her husband John.
A funeral service is scheduled at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Ellinwood, with Officiant Father Charles Mazouch. Visitation is scheduled from 1 to 8 p.m. Monday at Kimple Funeral Home, Ellinwood. An Altar Society rosary is scheduled at 3 p.m. Monday with a vigil service at 7 p.m. Monday, both at the funeral home. Burial will be at Lakin-Comanche District Cemetery, Ellinwood.
