HOISINGTON — Dr. William Franklin Harrison of Kansas City, Kan. passed Jan. 23, 2022, at 87. He was born Feb. 13, 1934, to William Franklin and Winnie Faye (Shetler) Harrison of Hoisington, Kan.
He was preceded in death by former wife, Shirley; sons, Clay Anthony and Lance Diego Harrison.
He is survived by daughter, Pam Harrison Redetzke of Hoisington and son, Shane Harrison of Kansas City; grandchildren, Tanna Redetzke Vine (Dustin), Terry Redetzke (Sandy) and Amanda Redetzke; great-grandchildren, Maleah, Westin, and Myles Vine, Grace, Sydney, and Carter Redetzke.
Dr. Harrison graduated from Hoisington High school in 1952, the University of Kansas in 1961, and University of Kansas Medical School in 1965. Completed internship 1966-67. He moved to Las Vegas Nevada in 1967 where he practiced Family Medicine until 1983, after which he took a 2 ½ year sabbatical to travel. His love of medicine took him back to practice medicine in his home state. He last practiced in Columbus, Kan. He retired in 2007 and pursued his travels and much time with grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Memorial service will be 1 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 5, 2022, at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, Hoisington, with Pastor Don Fisher presiding. Inurnment will follow in Hoisington Cemetery.
