BISON — Forrest Tupper, 69, died Nov. 24, 2015, at Huron Regional Medical Center in South Dakota. Born Dec. 3, 1945, in Goodland, he was the son of Chester Arthur and Ola Inez (Veneman) Tupper. He was a resident of Bison since 1980, moving there from Weskan. In 1963, he graduated from Weskan High School in Weskan. In 1974, he graduated from Bethel College in North Newton, receiving a bachelor’s degree in zoology. On Nov. 30, 1974, he married Janie Showers at Sharon Springs. He, along with his wife Janie, owned and operated Tupper Harvesting.
Mr. Tupper was a United States Army Veteran serving in Vietnam. He attended First Southern Baptist Church in Great Bend, and was a member of the U.S. Custom Harvesters Inc., and the Lion’s Club, Otis.
Survivors include, his wife, Janie Tupper of Bison; two sons, Grant Tupper and Garen Tupper (Joy), both of Windsor, Colo.; three grandchildren; and two sisters, Cheryl Mott of Carrollton, Texas, and Anna Tessier of Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Randal Tupper, and Orion Lee Tupper.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2 at the Southern Baptist Church in Great Bend with Pastor Steve Johnson officiating. Interment will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Lone Star Cemetery in Bison. Church visitation will be held from 9:30-10:20 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Memorials are suggested to the U.S. Custom Harvesters Inc. Children’s Safety Day, Samaritan’s Purse International Relief, or Otis-Bison USD 403 Scholarship Fund.
