Ivan C. Barr 1955 - 2016

GREAT BEND — Ivan C. Barr, 61, passed away early on Nov. 7, 2016, at his home in Great Bend after an extended illness.
Born on Feb. 6, 1955, at Neligh, Neb. he was the son of William Fredrick and Bernice Irene (Walker) Barr. In 1973, he graduated from Tilden High School. On June 18, 1977, he was united in marriage to Donita C. Clark at Great Bend. Ivan worked in the oilfield his entire career, including as an over the road truck driver for Transport Express for five years, for Baker-Hughes Petrolite for 10 years, and was a dedicated employee for JaCam Chemicals/Carriers for 16 years, most recently as a Truck Fabrication Manager. He loved attending car shows and working on cars.
Mr. Barr attended Cornerstone Fellowship in Great Bend.
Survivors his wife, Donita C. Barr, Great Bend; two sons, Daniel Barr, Lawrence; and Benjamin Barr and his wife, Marie, Dodge City; three grandchildren, Daelin, Morgan, and Savannah Barr; three brothers, Pat Dennison and his wife Linda, DeWitt, Neb.; Keith Barr and his wife, Kelly, Wellington, Nev., and Blaine Barr and his wife, Angie, Great Bend; five sisters, Linda Davis and her husband, Robert, Pierce, Neb., Bonnie Ruzicka and her husband, Steve, Verdigre, Neb.; Barbara McClellan and her husband, Kevin, Fort Dodge, Iowa; Nancy Shipps, Pierce, Neb.; and Mary Klinetobe, Tilden, Neb.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Charter Funerals in Great Bend with Pastor Curtis Reinhardt officiating. Interment will be in the Pawnee Rock Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
