Jay Louis Kimball, 73, died Oct. 17 at the Kansas Heart Hospital in Wichita. Born Jan. 20, 1939, in Larned, he was the son of Jay Grant and Sarah Louise (Postlethwaite) Kimball. In 1957 he graduated from Great Bend High School. On Aug. 20, 1959, he married Linda Laffer in Winfield. A resident of Great Bend since 2005, coming from Carson City, Nev., he worked for Lockheed Martin and Hytek Microsystems as a Microelectronics Engineer.
Mr. Kimball was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Great Bend.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Kimball, of the home; one son, Michael Jay Kimball and his wife Kimberly of Uralla, Australia; four grandchildren, Misti K. Kimball-Phillips, Brian Joseph Bradley, Sarah Elizabeth Kimball and Christopher Michael Bradley; and one great-grandchild, Abren Jay Phillips. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Kathleen Casey; and one sister, Carol Schrepel.
There will be a memorial service at a later date. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Memorials are suggested to St. John’s Episcopal Church, in care of the funeral home. Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.bryantfh.net.
