ADA, Kan. — Jay Shelton Cummings, 59, Ada, died Thursday, Dec. 31, 2015, in Hutchinson. He was born at Forbes Air Force Base in Topeka on July 12, 1956, to Joseph L. and Sharon Cummings.
Jay developed lifelong friendships with many during his 25 years with NAPA Auto Parts. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and gun enthusiast. Jay also enjoyed horseback riding. Jay was a Freemason for 25 years.
Survivors include his parents; wife Kelli Cummings; daughters Anne Gabbert and her husband Lawrence, and Katherine Cummings; granddaughter Grace Gabbert; and stepsons Wyatt and Logan Bayless.
A luncheon will be served from noon to 1 p.m., followed by a Memory Dedication, on Wednesday, Jan. 6, at the Belmont Boulevard Christian Church, Salina. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. at the Lincoln Cemetery in Lincoln. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Kansas Masonic Foundation or the Intrepid Fallen Heroes and may be left in care of Wilson Family Funeral Home in Minneapolis.
