COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Joseph "Joe" Vsetecka, 89, died Jan. 25 at his home in Colorado Springs, Colo. He was born on March 21, 1921, the son of Emil and Amelia (Zoboj) Vsetecka.

He married Elsie (Oborny) Vsetecka on Jan. 8 , 1945. She died Dec. 24, 2009.

He served in the U.S. Navy.

Mr. Vsetecka is survived by: son, Don Vsetecka, Colorado Springs, Colo.; daughter, Lana Schymos, Colorado Springs, Colo.; two brothers, Leonard Vsetecka and Bill Vsetecka; and one sister, Helen Suchy; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four brothers.

Funeral mass was held at Christ the King Catholic Church in Wakeeney on Friday. Memorial are suggested to Christ the King Catholic Church and can be sent in care of Schmitt Funeral Home, 336 N. 12th, Wakeeney, KS 67672. Interment was at the Kansas Veteran’s Cemetery in Wakeeney.
