HUTCHINSON — Karen Elizabeth Ochs, 66, passed away peacefully at her home on June 13, 2022. She was born Aug. 11, 1955, in Kingman, Kan. She was a loving daughter, sister, mother and wife and most importantly grandma, mawmaw and mimi to her beautiful grandchildren. Karen met her husband David Ochs on a blind date on July 4th, 1990. They married on July 27, 1991 and moved to Hutchinson in 2001, where they built their life together.
Karen is survived by her husband, David, of the home; two sons, Justin Brooks (Sandi) of Eudora and Josh Brooks of Harrah, Okla., and one daughter, Meagan Sparks (Eric) of Carmel, Ind.; mother in law, Marilyn Ochs (Bacha) of Hutchinson, Kan.; brother, Mike McGurk (Sue) of Larned, Kan.; grandchildren, Shayanne of Harrah, Okla., Drew, Max and Violet of Eudora, Madeline and Benjamin of Carmel, Ind. She is preceded in death by her mother, Zelpha Jean McGurk and one brother Patrick McGurk.
Karens true passion was her grandchildren, she spent as much time with them as she could. Her memory will live on forever through the eyes of them and everyone else who loved her.
A memorial service will be Thursday, June 16, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. at Park Place Christian Church in Hutchinson, Kan.
