EDMOND, Okla. — Kevin L. Cook, 36, of Edmond, Okla., died Oct. 22 at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Matthews Funeral Home Chapel in Edmond. Kevin was born March 27, 1974, in Great Bend, to Gary and Lorene Cook. He resided in Perryton, Texas, from 1974-1985, when the family moved to Cushing, Okla. Kevin was a 1993 graduate of Cushing High School. He received his Bachelor of Science in Industrial Safety from the University of Central Oklahoma in 1998. Kevin was employed by Southwest Mechanical for the last 12 years. Kevin was an avid outdoorsman who loved camping, boating, fishing and hunting. He took great pride in his work and everything he did. Kevin had a warm personality, always wore a smile and filled our lives with laughter. He loved his family and friends and would do anything for them.
Survivors include his parents, Gary and Lorene Cook of Cushing, Okla.; one sister, Kayla Ussery and husband Troy of Allen, Texas; one nephew, Austin Ussery of Allen, Texas; one niece, Madison Ussery of Allen, Texas; several aunts and uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by grandparents William and Beatrice Cook and Art and Hattie Schmidt and one uncle, William Cook, Jr. Memorial contributions can be made out to Matthews Funeral Home to help pay for the unexpected funeral expenses.
