Ladine Peterson 1919 - 2014

PAWNEE ROCK — Ladine Peterson, 95, passed away Oct. 29 at the Woodhaven Care Center in Ellinwood. Born April 2, 1919, in Bison, she was the daughter of Everett and Frances Bitter Edwards. On April 3, 1941, she married Loraine Edwin Peterson in Bison. He passed away Jan. 20, 1995. A lifetime area resident of Rush and Pawnee County, she began her career as a teacher and retired from the ASCS office in Larned. She raised Persian cats and took them to many shows, and she also loved flowers.
Mrs. Peterson was a member of the United Methodist Church in Larned. She played the piano for the Methodist Church in Albert and Pawnee Rock.  
Survivors include, a daughter, Lark Peterson of Pawnee Rock; three brothers, Zane and Bert Edwards, both of Bison, and Forrest Edwards of Indiana; two sisters, Ruth “Susie” Krug of La Crosse and Holly Brock of Texas; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Debora Daubert and Candice Peterson; three brothers, Robert “Bob,” Tom and Everett “Peck” Edwards; and four sisters, Lois Edwards, Hazel Stump, Minetta “Mickey” Smith and Alma Edwards.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 3, at Beckwith Mortuary in Larned, with Pastor Darryl Peterson presiding. Burial will be at the Larned Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday and 1 to 8 p.m. on Sunday at Beckwith Mortuary. Memorials may be given to the Ladine Peterson Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
