GREAT BEND — Larry L. Menzies, 74, died Feb. 8 at Via Christi St. Francis Regional Medical Center, Wichita. He was born Jan. 12, 1937 at Morrowville, the son of Hubert and Lois (Bahl) Menzies.

He married Karen Lull August 19, 1962 at Morrowville. He was a social studies teacher for Unified School District 428 and worked at Kelly’s Water Well Service, all of Great Bend.

Mr. Menzies was a Great Bend, Kansas resident since 1966 coming from Washington County. He served in the National Guard.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church, American Legion, life member of NEA, and KNEA.

Survivors include: his wife, Karen Menzies, of the home; two sons, Stephen Menzies of Tampa, Fla. and Scott Menzies of Wichita; one daughter, Misti Menzies of Wichita; three sisters, Roberta Hauschel and husband Jim of Warsaw, Mo., Rebecca Nance and husband Marvin of Queens Creek, Ariz. and Ramona Derousseau and husband Mike of Clay Center; one brother, Kermit Menzies and wife Joyce of Hutchinson; sister-in-law, Mari Menzies of Salina; brother-in-law, Doug Lull of Scandia; and four grandchildren, James Menzies, Kayla Menzies, Jason Menzies, and Alexis Menzies

He was preceded in death by one brother, Gene Menzies; one brother-in-law, Chuck Lull; and one nephew, Lonnie Hauschel.

The funeral service will be at 9:30 a.m. on Friday at Bryant Funeral Home. The officiant will be The Reverend William F. Johnson. Interment will be at 2:30 p.m., Friday at Morrowville City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 7 to 8 p.m., Thursday at Bryant Funeral Home.
