GREAT BEND — Lou Ann Ritterhouse, 77, died Jan. 22 at Central Kansas Medical Center. She was born Aug. 13, 1933 at Langley the daughter of John Amos and Irma Blanche (Kindt) Mitchell.

She married Dwight Darrell Ritterhouse on March 23, 1954 at Little River. He died March 29, 2008. She was a home maker and also worked at nursing homes as a nurse aide.

Mrs. Ritterhouse was a lifelong resident of Barton County. She had also lived at Little River. Lou was an avid bowler.

Survivors are: two sons, Robert Ritterhouse and wife Lois of Albert, Lyle Ritterhouse and wife Sandra of Ellinwood; two daughters, Wanda Prowse and husband Dan of Syracuse, and Susan Hendricks and husband Harry of Raymond; twin brother, George Mitchell and wife Bruna of Marquette; one sister, Barbara Hubbard of New Iberia, Louisiana; 14 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Amos Mitchell and Lee Mitchell; four sisters, Blanche McNett, Betty Hall, Mary Roach, and Anita Peterman.

The funeral service will be Tuesday, Jan. 25 at 1 p.m. at Bryant Funeral Home with Rev. Dick Ogle officiating. Interment will be at Bean Cemetery, Little River.

Visitation will be on Monday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Tuesday, from 9 a.m. until service time. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday evening at Bryant Funeral Home.
