Lucile I. Gordon, 98, died Oct. 16 at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born Aug. 27, 1912, in Dover, she was the daughter of Albert B. and Iva (Briggs) Ottinger. A resident of Great Bend since 1936, coming from Abilene, she was a bookkeeper for Bentley Hardware and Guy Gordon Accounting Service. On March 8, 1936, she married Guy G. Gordon at Wakarusa. He died May 5, 1989.
Mrs. Gordon was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ, the Order of the Eastern Star, and a charter member of the quilt guild, all of Great Bend.
Survivors include a son, Donald Gordon and wife Luz Betty of Great Bend; a daughter, Judy Kuhlman of Stevensville, Mich.; two grandchildren, Tom Kuhlman of Ellenton, Fla., and Molly Rittersdorf and husband Bob of Grand Rapids, Mich.; three great-grandchildren, Cullen Rittersdorf, Bracara Rittersdorf and Daelan Rittersdorf. She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Kenneth Kuhlman, a brother, Harold Ottinger, and two sisters, Helen Hixon and Iva Doris Patterson.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Great Bend with the Rev. Stan Crawford and the Rev. Paul Barker officiating. Burial will be at the Great Bend Cemetery. Friends may visit from 1 to 9 p.m. today with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m., at Bryant Funeral Home.
