Marian Weathers 1926 - 2014

Marian Weathers, 87, died Jan. 22 at Rehabilitation Center of Independence in Independence, Mo. Born May 20, 1926, in Pawnee Rock, she was the daughter of William J. and Alvena Mary (Koehn) Mull. On June 2, 1946, she married Russell Kenneth Weathers in Great Bend. He died on Aug. 23, 2008. A lifetime resident of Great Bend and Pawnee Rock, moving to Independence, Mo., in 2009 to be closer to family, she was a homemaker.
Mrs. Weathers was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Great Bend.
Survivors include one son, Doug Weathers and his wife Gaylene, of Wichita; one daughter, Connie Lanam and her husband Wayne, of Independence, Mo.; one sister, Marlene Worley of Tulsa, Okla.; three grandchildren, Stephanie Allen and her husband Pat, Brad Weathers and his wife Cheri, and Bret Weathers and his wife Shiao-Pei; and four great-grandchildren, Grant Allen, Grace Allen, Morgan Weathers, and Bristol Weathers.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 27, at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Great Bend with the Rev. Lennie Maxwell officiating. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m., with family receiving friends from 6 to 7 p.m., on Sunday at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association or Gentiva Hospice, in care of the funeral home. Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.bryantfh.net
