LARNED — Mary Louise Wilhite, 89, died Feb. 14, 2012 at Pawnee Valley Community Hospital, Larned.
She was born December 15, 1922, at Pawnee Rock, the daughter of George K. and Edna Mary Batman Hill. A longtime resident of Pawnee County, she was a retired elementary school teacher.
She belonged to Pawnee Rock Christian Church and Christian Women’s Fellowship and the Twentieth Century Study Club. She married Woodroe “Woody” Wilhite, Oct. 3, 1943 at Pawnee Rock. He died Sept. 13, 2001.
Survivors include two sons, John and wife Eileen, Larned; Jack and wife Kerry, Amarillo, Texas, eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Crosby.
A Funeral Service is scheduled at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18 at Pawnee Rock Christian Church, with Pastor John A. Thomas presiding. Friends may call from noon to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. Friday at Morell Funeral Home, Larned. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Pawnee Rock Cemetery. The family will be gathering at 538 West 2nd Street, Larned.
