HOISINGTON — Matilda J. (Tillie) Schremmer died June 8 at Woodhaven Care Center in Ellinwood. Born July 5, 1918, in rural Odin, she was the daughter of Fred and Anna (Kirmer) Zorn. On May 23, 1939, she married Walter R. Schremmer at Holy Family Church in Odin. He died March 19, 1980. A longtime resident of Hoisington, coming from the Beaver and Odin area, she was a homemaker.

Mrs. Schremmer was a member of St. John Evangelist Catholic Church and Altar Society in Hoisington, and the Beaver Pepsters Club.

Survivors include two sons, Kenneth Schremmer and wife Rosie of Hosington, and Eldon Schremmer of Odin; two daughters, Marilyn Stapleton of Greeley, Colo., and Janice Frenzl and husband Keith of Great Bend; three sisters, Ann Schremmer of Hoisington, Marion Schroeder of Newton, and Helen Holliday of Inman; two brothers, Edwin Zorn of Colorado, and Gerald Zorn of Great Bend; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by five brothers, Richard, Bernard, Frank, Leonard, Elmer and Alvin Zorn; and two sisters, Margaret Steiner and Eleanor Hickel.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m,. on Friday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Hoisington with Father Dwight Birket officiating. Burial will be at the St. Joseph Cemetery in Beaver. Vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, followed by an Altar Society rosary, all at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home in Hoisington. Friends may visit from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church or St. Joseph Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
