SHEBOYGAN FALLS WIS. — Opal L. (Koeller) Stahl, 79, of Sheboygan Falls, Wis., passed away on Sept. 21 at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center. Born on Oct. 27, 1930 in Ellinwood, she was the daughter of Ira and Anna (Kerkoska) Alexander. On May 31, 1949 she married William James Koeller in Great Bend. William preceded her in death in 1995. Opal married Eddie Bender in 1998, he preceded her in death in 1998. She was then married to Donald Stahl on Aug.t 16, 2002 in Sheboygan, Wis. Opal was employed as an office manager for Craig Construction in Great Bend for 10 years. She also worked with her husband Bill Koeller at Koeller Enterprises, Inc. and Mobilefone of Kansas. She was most recently employed as a caretaker for Elder Care until her retirement in 2000. She was an avid golfer and enjoyed teaching junior golf at the Petroleum Club.
Mrs. Stahl was a member of the Blessed Trinity Parish in Sheboygan Falls, Wis. and St. Rose Catholic Church in Great Bend where she served on the St. Rose Altar Society. She was a past vice-president of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, served as a past officer of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Order of Elks and was a member of the Lake Barton Golf Course and Petroleum Club.
Opal is survived by her husband, Donald; two daughters, Carol Hultberg of Bellevue, Wash. and Karen and husband Dennis McKnight of Sheboygan Falls, Wis.; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Jim and wife Evelyn Alexander of Wichita; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Bill and Eddie; a son, William Douglas (Laura Ann) Koeller; a daughter, Kathy Sue Ebner; four sisters; two brothers; and her beloved dog, Miss Hootie.
A memorial service was held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday at the Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls, Wis. with the Rev. Bob Lotz officiating.
