HORSESHOE BAY, Texas — Ruby Marie Mitchell, 85, passed away on Jan 21. She was born April 19, 1925 at Wilson, the daughter of Ruben and Lydia Nuss. She married George E. Mitchell in 1944. They celebrated 67 years of marriage and had four sons.
She was a homemaker until their boys were grown. Then she went to work at Fuller Brush at Great Bend for 13 years.
In 1987, she retired. Years later, when her husband retired, they traveled full-time in their travel trailer for eight years and saw most of the U.S. In 1995, after they returned from Alaska, they decided to put roots down in Horseshoe Bay, Texas because they liked the hill country.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.
She is survived by: husband George of the home; four sons, Ron and wife Connie Mitchell of Copperas Cove, Texas, Lee and wife Vicky Mitchell of Harker Heights, Texas, Dale and wife Yvonne Mitchell of Omaha, Neb.; Larry and wife Jeri Mitchell of Pratt; and one sister Doris Janssen of Lyons. She has nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 7 p.m. at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Monday at Clements-Wilcox Chapel in Marble Falls, Texas. Interment will follow at 11 a.m. at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park in Burnet, Texas. Memorials may be made to St. Peters Lutheran Church building fund.
