Sharon Kay Garner was born on Oct. 2, 1953, in Great Bend Kan., to Kathleen and Silas Garner. Sharon went home to the Lord on Oct. 18, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents, Kathleen and Silas Garner and Husband Billy Ray Gray.
Sharon graduated from Great Bend High School in 1971 and then attended the University of Kansas where she studied Sociology and Psychology. In 1980, Sharon started working for the United States Post Office from which she later retired. While working for the Post Office Sharon lived many years with her husband in Colorado then they later moved to Salina, Kan. November 2013, Sharon married her life partner Billy Gray. Her interests included shopping, home projects, gardening, and fishing with her husband.
She is survived by two sisters, Karen Jones and Saundra Wright of Great Bend, Kan.; one niece La’Keyia Jones of Dallas, Texas; and two nephews Tevin Wright and Jamal Wright of Wichita, Kan.; and a host of cousins, family and friends.
In accordance with Sharon’s wishes, no funeral or memorial service are planned, and cremation has taken place.
