Sister Teresita Huse, 103, died July 4, 2022, at the Dominican Sisters of Peace motherhouse in Great Bend. She was born July 23,1918, in Kingman, the daughter of Frank and Clara Marx Huse. She entered the Dominican Sisters community in 1933 and pronounced vows in 1936. In 2021 she celebrated 85 years of religious profession.

Sister Teresita began her ministry as an elementary school teacher, serving for 16 years in Kansas and Oklahoma schools. For the next 14 years she ministered as a high school teacher and college professor.  A call to pastoral ministry took her to Goodland, Kan. in 1970 where she served the next eight years.  Sister Teresita also served in leadership positions in her Dominican religious community.  During a sabbatical she spent time in Japan teaching English to adults. She moved to the motherhouse in 1991 where she ministered in the Office of Mission and Ministry. She was known throughout the community for her hospitality and her love for the foreign missions.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews, as well as the Dominican Sisters of Peace. Sister Teresita was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Leo, Cletus, and Sylvester.

A Vigil Service will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 7. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 8. Both will take place at the Sisters’ Convent. Burial will be in the Sisters’ Resurrection Cemetery. Memorials in honor of Sister Teresita may be sent to Hope for the Village Child (benefits the Sisters’ Nigerian Mission) or Dominican Sisters of Peace, 2320 Airport Drive, Columbus, OH 43219-2098.  Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.bryantfh.net.
