Timber Kent Ward

ASHBORO, N.C. — Timber Kent Ward, 62, died June 16, 2022, at Woodland Hills Center, Asheboro, N.C.

Born Feb. 15, 1960, at Great Bend, Kan., he was the son of Wendell Clay and Shirley Ann Ward.

He attended Great Bend public schools and was the American flagbearer for the 1975 Argonne Rebels Drum and Bugle Corps. He was an apprenticed fine art framing specialist and worked in that capacity in Kansas City, Kan. and Lincoln, Neb. He was especially proud to have worked on the conservation of a frame for a Thomas Hart Benton painting. Hobbies and interests included crafting miniature sculpture and playing guitar. 

Survivors include his sister Tracy Ann Ward Cork, Abingdon, Virginia; brother Arlen Thad (Cherine) Ward, Hays, Kan.; and brother Scott Justin Ward, Chicago, Ill.; four nieces, Tiffany Booth, Melanie Petz, Kassidy Swann, and Deana Blevins; and three nephews, Micky Ward, Doug Ward, and Jason Booth. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clay and Shirley Ward of Great Bend, Kan.; brother Shane Tucker Ward; and brother Clay Cork “Corky” Ward. Memorial arrangements are pending.
