CLAFLIN — Tom B. Huslig, 74, passed away June 2, 2022, at Good Samaritan Society, Ellsworth. He was born March 30, 1948, in Wichita, to Bernard and Marie (Riedel) Huslig.

Tom, a lifetime resident of the Claflin area, was a farmer, enjoying all aspects of farm life (except fixing fence), especially mowing the farm yard. Tom attended Immaculate Conception School and graduated from Claflin High School in 1967. Tom was a member of the Sunflower Polka Club, Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Claflin, Knights of Columbus Council #2630, Odin, and was an Altar Server for 42 years. He was especially fond of being an uncle and great uncle and passionate about Claflin football and basketball.  

Survivors include three nieces Tina Firgens (Keith), Lisa Pflughoeft-Goetz (Todd) and Diana Brooks (Brycin); great nieces and nephews, Paige Goetz, Tyler Goetz, Peyton Firgens and Logan Firgens; and one brother-in-law, Father Russ Mower of Dallas. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Vickie Mower.

Mass of Christian Burial will 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 10, 2022, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Claflin, with Father Terrance Klein and Father Russ Mower Concelebrating. Interment will follow at Claflin Cemetery. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Thursday, June 9, at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home. Vigil with Knights of Columbus, Council #2630, Rosary will be 7 p.m. Thursday, June 9, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Memorials may be given to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church or Claflin Ambulance Service, in care of Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, PO Box 146, Hoisington, KS  67544.
