Verlin L. Oeser, 74, died Nov. 29 at his is residence in Great Bend. Born Nov. 1, 1938, at Great Bend, he was the son of Henry and Iva (Buehler) Oeser. He married Carmen Fox on Feb. 1, 1958, at Claflin.  They later divorced. He then married Cindy Wright McDaniel on Jan. 16, 1999, at Great Bend.  She survives.  
Mr. Oeser was a Great Bend resident since 1998, coming from Scott City.
He was a member of the Scott County Shrine Club, Isis Shrine Temple, and a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge, Claflin, where he held many offices.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; one son, Craig Oeser and wife Julie, of San Francisco, Calif.; two daughters, Terri Louie and husband Randy, of San Francisco, Calif., and Tonia Patton and husband David, of Kennewick, Wash.; one sister, Ginger Henning and husband Omer, of Hutchinson; three stepchildren, nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 3 at Bryant Funeral Home with Pastor Jack Sweany, officiant. Interment will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Claflin Cemetery, Claflin, with Masonic Rites. Visitation will be from 1-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. Memorial donations are suggested to the Shrine Travel Fund or Brit Spaugh Zoo, in care of the funeral home.
