Willis Stoskopf 1917 - 2012

HOISINGTON — Willis Stoskopf, 95, died Nov. 4 at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born April 2, 1917 in Beaver, he was the son of Frank and Mary (Hull) Stoskopf. On July 10, 1938 he married Elizabeth McKinstry in Hagerman, N.M. A lifelong resident of Hoisington, he was a retired farmer. He enjoyed traveling, visiting with friends at the coffee shop and playing cards and bingo.
Mr. Stoskopf was a former member of Vine United Methodist Church and a current member of Hoisington United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, the treasurer of South Township Homestead, a 4-H Leader, member of the Lions Club, and a life member of Elks Club.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Stoskopf, of the home; two daughters, Elizabeth Flohr and husband Wayne, of Belton, Texas, and Ruth Cain and husband Sidney, of Andover; one sister, Lucille Tonkin of Nebraska; brother-in-law, Carol Warrick of Larned; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and close friend, Jerry Stoss. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Lois Warrick; and brother, Wayne Stoskopf.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home in Hoisington with the Rev. Kris Brinlee and the Rev. Dick Ogle officiating. Burial will be at the Hoisington  Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the United Methodist Church in Hoisington, in care of the funeral home. Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.nicholsonrickefh.net.
