Due to forecasted treacherous travel conditions sweeping the state of Kansas throughout the weekend, the Barton Community College athletic department announces changes to its scheduled events.
BASKETBALL — The basketball teams’ trip on Saturday to Chanute, has been rescheduled for Monday, Jan. 16. The Lady Cougars will start at Neosho County at 2 p.m. with the Cougars taking on the Panthers at approximately 4 p.m.
TRACK — The track and field team has cancelled their trip to Lincoln, Neb, as the Cougars were scheduled to participate in the Holiday Inn Invitational Friday and Saturday. Coach David Schenek begins his search to fill the void in the schedule with a meet for the weekend of Jan. 21.
WRESTLING — Unaffected by the impending weather, the Barton wrestling squad will compete as scheduled Friday at Kearney, Neb. Five matches started Friday in the Midwest Duals and were expected to finish by 5 p.m. enabling the squad to return home before the weather changes.
