When you’re 14-for-20 from beyond the arc, it’s hard to lose.
Barton Community College shot down Cloud County from long distance on Saturday night, winning 84-74 at Kirkman Activity Center.
Barton improves to 18-7 overall, 6-3 in the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Western Division.
The 3-point barrage started early for Barton Community College, with Trey Unrau knocking down the first of many to make it 6-5 Thunderbirds.
Cloud County’s Shaun Stewart, who finished with 31 points, made a 3 on the other end before Christian Smith sank a 3-ball for Barton.
That was when Deriece Parks got involved. The Cougars freshman sank back-to-back treys to start a night that ended with him going 8-for-10 from long distance.
Parks led the Cougars with 26 points.
Tyler Corleyt added 18 points and six assists.
Unruah made 3 of 4 3-pointers and scored 11 points.
