Lady Cougars go cold against Seward County

LIBERAL — The Barton Community College women’s basketball team started off slow, but Seward County got off to a slow start as well.
The Lady Cougars only trailed by six points at halftime, but Seward picked up its shooting in the second half for a 69-42 rout in Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Western Division action on Wednesday night.
Barton drops to 18-10 overall and 6-6 in the West. No. 16-ranked Seward County improves to 24-4 and 9-3.
The Lady Cougars shot 24 percent (6-for-25) from the field in the first half, but luckily for Barton, Seward County only managed 29.4 percent (10-for-34).
Things changed in the second half — for Seward County.
The Lady Saints shot 46.3 percent (19-for-41) in the second half. Barton went 7-for-32 (21.9 percent).
Cheyenne Hedrington led Barton with 13 points.
