The Barton Community College women’s basketball team closed out the 2013 portion of their season right.
The Lady Cougars won a pair of games over the weekend at the North Central Missouri College Classic before dropping Hesston College 80-63 on Monday night at Kirkman Activity Center.
Barton was tied with Hesston at 31 heading into intermission, but the Lady Cougars stepped up their game on offense for 49 points in the second half to pull ahead.
Cheyenne Hedrington got her second double-double in three games, recording a team-high 19 points and 11 rebounds.
She was one of five members of the Barton squad in double figures.
KK Anthony added 15 points coming off the bench.
Marian Lambert finished with 12 points, and Kailai Brantner scored 11 points.
Brandy Winbush put in 10 points, going 5-for-5 from the free-throw line.
Barton improves to 12-3 on the season heading into the holiday break.
At the tournament over the weekend, Barton topped host North Central Missouri 85-67 on Friday night.
Hedrington led the team, amassing a double-double with 21 points and 10 rebounds.
Anthony added 14 points.
The Lady Cougars routed Ancilla College 70-45 on Saturday afternoon.
Lambert finished with a team-leading 16 points.
Taylor Mayes added 12 points coming off the bench.
