Area golfers earn medals

LAKE BARTON — Larned’s Halle Barker and Hoisington’s Addison Smith each shot 12-over-par 48s to tie for runner-up honors at Monday’s 9-hole Hoisington Invitational at Lake Barton Golf Course. Plainville’s Corbyn Marquess (47) earned medalist honors in 90-degree heat and 25 mph southeasterly winds.

Other area top 10 medalists were Great Bend’s fifth-place Allyson Kaiser (49) and Larned’s seventh-place Darby Eakin (54).

Team champion Plainville (220) finished two strokes ahead of Hays-TMP (222) with Larned (223) placing third, Hoisington (236) fourth and Great Bend JV (239) fifth.
