BELOIT — Two Great Bend Middle School cross country runners earned first places and the Panther girls captured the top three spots at the Beloit cross country meet.

The Beloit meet is different than any other meet. Runners compete in a combined 7th and 8th grade division and no team scores are compiled.

With the grades being lumped together, all participants had to run 2-miles. Normally, 7th-graders run a 1-mile race.

Great Bend’s Kaiden Esfeld captured the 7th/8th boys division with a personal record (10:27.51).

The Panther girls dominated as champion Haley McCormick (13:11.96) was followed by teammates Addy Nicholson (13:17.3) and Eliana Jackson (13:27.9).
