GUYMON, Oklahoma — Golden Belt Swim Squad capped off a perfect 6-0 summer swim season by winning the Western Kansas Swim Club Combined Meet Championship for the third consecutive year over the weekend.
GBSS racked up a total of 1,091.5 points, besting Scott City, which place second with a score of 750.
The 341.5-point margin of victory was a record for a WKSC Combined meet.
Golden Belt entered in the league meet with the most swimmers qualified at 72 and also had 100 more entries than any other team.  
GBSS swimmers won six of the 20 relay events during the Saturday competition and many kids in all age groups swam some their fastest times of the season.
While it was a total team effort to amass that many points in the meet, the strength of the team this year was the older age groups.
The team was led by two swimmers, Hannah Hildebrand and Justin Kuhlman, who were competing in their final competitive swim meet of their careers as members of GBSS.  
In addition to swimming for the team, Hildebrand and Kuhlman are also assistant coaches this year, helping with the younger swimmers.
These two swimmers, along with Camryn Dunekack, each also earned individual High Point honors in their respective age groups at this combine championship meet.  
These three swimmers individually contributed over 200 points to the team total.
Several other GBSS swimmers finished in the top five individual High Point standings and they include — Kasey Kennedy, Cole Pierce, Kira Cook, Brady Daniel, Josh Schridde, Matthew Johnson, Amy To and Isaac Panzer.
The swim season is not over for those swimmers who have qualified to compete in the Missouri Valley District West meet to be held Friday through Sunday in Manhattan.
Western Kansas Swim Club is sending 90 swimmers to this meet with Golden Belt contributing 16.
