Barton began its weekend against Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference opponent Garden City.
“This wasn’t an official conference match, we just played each other as a tournament exhibition,” Lady Cougars head coach Jaime Cabral said. “The win doesn’t count toward the conference standings.”

Later on Friday, Barton played a best-of-three match against Air Force Prep, which went 1-2 in the Barton Invitational but didn’t play Barton.
