Northwest Kansas Technical to send wrestlers to NJCAA national tourney

POWELL, Wyo. — Northwest Kansas Technical College attended the NJCAA Wrestling Regional Tournament in Powell, Wyo.
The Mavericks were led by Caleb Crump, who won the Regional Champion title. Crump was also awarded the Academic All American Award.
Crump, along with Ricardo Valdez, who took fourth place at the regional tournament, will be competing in the national tournament.
“I have to commend these men on a very difficult season and congratulate them on their accomplishment on qualifying for Nationals,” Mavericks head coach Steve Lampe said. “These are the first wrestlers in the history of Northwest Tech to qualify for Nationals, such an exciting time for the Mavericks.”
The NJCAA National Tournament will be held on Feb. 25 in Spokan, Wash.
