Oiler Brett Leibl plays for winning all-star team

The Central Prairie League is represented by Ness City’s John Pfannenstiel (15), Central Plains Oiler Brett Liebl (20) and St. John’s Mason Osborne (23) at the 36th KBCA All-Star basketball game.

SALINA — Central Plains Oiler Brett Liebl scored nine points with three assists to help the White team to a 111-107 victory over the Blue team in Saturday’s 36th Kansas Basketball Coaches Association All-Star Basketball Game. St. John’s Mason Osborne contributed six points.

Iowa State recruit Caleb Grill from Maize High scored nine points in the final four minutes to rally the White team from a 10-point deficit. Blue Valley Northwest’s tied the score at 107. But Grill nailed a 3-pointer and Ness City’s John Pfannenstiel converted a clinching free throw.

Lawrence High’s Clarence King scored 19 points and Grill’s added 17 points for the White team. Hutchinson Trinity’s Kaleb Hammeke scored 17 points with five rebounds and four steals to lead the Blue team.
