Panthers, Indians compete at Garden City tennis

GARDEN CITY — Great Bend's Kedem Deines/Jacob Parks (2-2) placed seventh at the Garden City Tennis Invitational. Great Bend (72) placed sixth in the team standings. Deines/Parks defeated Scott City's Brody Strine/Brody Stoecklein, 8-5 for seventh place.

"Kaden and Jacob are really starting to mesh well," said Great Bend coach Chris Manning. "They're becoming a solid No. 1 doubles team. We're starting to play tennis without so many nerves. It’s fun to watch." 

Panther Aiden Stacey (3-2) finished 10thh with a hard-fought 8-7 (6-2) tiebreaker to Dodge City's Edgar Varela.

"Aiden continues to fight though tough draws," Manning said.

Panther Aaron Ramirez (3-2) defeated Larned's Troy Hemken 8-2 for 13th place.

Larned's Mason Mead/Tristan Thompson (3-2) placed 10th with an 8-3 loss to Dodge City's Peter Bui/Dan Velasquez. Panthers Chasen Ramsey/Kadin Pounds placed 19th.
