Canton-Galva (3-1) at Central Plains (4-0)
The Central Plains High School football team continues to roll through the season.
Now the mood changes.
The Oilers, along with other Eight-Man football teams, begin their district season tonight.
Central Plains gets the tough task of facing Canton-Galva, which has the second-best record in the district behind the Oilers.
Central Plains, which is ranked No. 3 in Eight-Man Division-I, has made short work of its opponents the last three weeks. The Oilers haven’t allowed a point since Week 1 against Victoria.
That streak should be threatened as the Eagles average 48.5 points per game.
The Oilers average 59 points per game.

St. John-Hudson  (0-4)
at Kinsley (1-3)
St. John has struggled through the first four weeks of the season, but with the start of district play, there is still a chance to turn things around.
The Tigers haven’t scored a point in two weeks since losing 46-44 against Otis-Bison.
St. John averages just 16 points per game.
Kinsley is coming off a wild offensive showcase loss against Otis-Bison, 104-70.
The Coyotes average 29 points per game.

Macksville (0-4)
at Pratt-Skyline (3-1)
Macksville gets to start the Eight-Man D-I District 6 schedule against the top team of the district.
Pratt-Skyline has the top record of the district, and averages 47.5 points per game.
The Thunderbirds are coming off a 90-52 loss at Attica.
The Mustangs, which has only scored 12 points this season, is coming off a 56-6 loss at Ellinwood.

Thunder Ridge (3-1)
at Otis-Bison (3-1)
Otis-Bison has proved that it can score points.
The Cougars are coming off a 104-70 victory over Kinsley.
The big question heading into the Eight-Man D-II District 7 schedule is how will the defense hold.
Thanks largely to last week’s loss, the Otis-Bison defense has allowed 35.5 points per game.
Thunder Ridge began the season with a loss against Osborne before starting a three-game winning streak.
The Longhorns, who are ranked No. 3 in Eight-Man D-II, average 50 points per game.

Cunningham (0-4)
at Stafford (4-0)
Stafford enters the district schedule as one of six undefeated teams in Eight-Man D-II.
The Trojans start the push to qualify for the postseason against Cunningham, which is tied for the worst record in District 5.
Stafford averages 41.5 points per game.
Cunningham averages only 10.5 points per game after a couple of scoreless weeks.

Larned (2-2) at Lyons (0-4)
Larned is looking to get things back on track and string some wins together taking to the road to challenge winless Lyons.
Both teams have lost against Kingman, but Larned is coming off a 33-25 victory over Nickerson.
Lyons lost to Nickerson, 28-3.

Hoisington (3-1)
at Kingman (4-0)
Hoisington hasn’t lost a game since Week 1, when the Cardinals lost to Larned 21-20 in double overtime.
Tonight, Hoisington has a struggle ahead as it challenges Kingman.
Not only is Kingman undefeated this season, no opponent has been able to score on the Eagles’ defense.
Kingman averages 10.75 points per game.
The Cardinals average 22.25 points per game, while allowing only 8.5 points per game.

Solomon (1-3)
at Ellinwood (2-2)
The Ellinwood Eagles are flying high with their first multiple-win season since 2011.
Ellinwood gets a chance to improve on that this week in the opening week of district play.
The Eagles are currently tied for third with their overall record with Little River.
Solomon is tied for the bottom of Eight-Man Division-I District 5.
