Things started off well for the Great Bend High School football team.
Less than a minute into the game, Trent Uselton blasted through the defense to put the Panthers ahead 7-0.
Even with some chances down the stretch, Great Bend couldn't keep the lead as Garden City won 28-21.
Garden City was able to make it 14-7, but a late first-half touchdown pass from Great Bend quarterback Shade Wondra to receiver Bryce Lytle evened things off heading into halftime.
Wondra punched in one more TD for the Panthers, but Garden City had already scored 28 points. Great Bend couldn't overcome the lead.
