Great Bend High School’s basketball teams return to action tonight for initial games after the holidays.
It will be the home openers for Great Bend, which entertains McPherson in non-conference action.
Great Bend’s girls’ varsity game tips off at 6 at Panther Fieldhouse, followed by the boys game.
Great Bend’s girls are 0-5 on the season, and the boys are 1-4.
McPherson’s boys are currently 4-1 overall and ranked No. 10 in Class 4A in the latest Kansas Basketball Coaches Association poll, released on Dec. 19.
The Bullpups, the defending 5A boys state champion, moved down to 4A this school year because of enrollment figures dipping.
McPherson’s girls are 5-0 and currently ranked No. 2 in 4A.
