The Great Bend High School bowling team met mixed results at its home match against McPherson and Garden City on Tuesday at Walnut Bowl.
The Lady Panthers prevailed, finishing on top of their opponents, scoring 2,185.
The Great Bend boys finished in second with 2,315, topping McPherson, which scored 2,253, but losing to Garden City, which amassed 2,365.
“The girls did awesome,” Great Bend head coach Mike Perry said. “We were without one of our top bowlers, Koa Pelster. Usually, the girls kind of start slow, but they got off to a good start and then just put the hammer down.”
Jacy Quade led the Lady Panthers with a 577 series.
“Jacy was always around the pocket,” Perry said. “She was very consistent. I think she was around 190 in every game. When she needed to, she made the adjustments to keep bowling well.”
The Panthers were led by Daniel Herrman, who finished his series with 618.
“Daniel was playing more straight up and in,” Perry said. “Other kids were throwing more curve, but he was bowling straight and that meant that he needed to make small adjustments, moving left or right, to keep bowling well. He did a good job converting his spares.”
