MACKSVILLE — The Macksville High School girls’ basketball team held a 31-27 lead going into halftime, but Kiowa County outscored the Lady Mustangs 14-2 in the third quarter to retake the lead on Friday night.
Macksville scored 17 points in the fourth quarter, but fell short of the comeback.
The Lady Mustangs were led by Keira Parr and Karissa Langlois, who scored 15 points each.
Tara Bunker added 10 points.

CUNNINGHAM — St. John, which is ranked No. 1 in Class 1A Division-I in the latest Kansas Basketball Coaches Association poll, was led by Morgan Osborne’s 19 points against Cunningham.
Osborne put in five 3-pointers to springboard the Lady Tigers. Teresa Wade added 18 points.
St. John is playing without starting point guard Jamie Waters, who had knee surgery for a torn meniscus this week.
LaCrosse 45, Otis-Bison 44
LACROSSE — The Otis-Bison girls scored 20 points in the fourth quarter, but fell short against LaCrosse.
Janel Tammen led the Lady Cougars (2-4) with 19 points.
Annie Kraisinger finished with 15 points.

LACROSSE — Brandon Pechanec score 18 points to lead Otis-Bison over LaCrosse.
Trevor Keller went 7-for-8 from the free-throw line on his way to 12 points.
The Cougars (4-2) were a combined 18-for-25 from the line for 72 percent.

Pawnee Heights 21
BUCKLIN — Pawnee Heights led 12-10 after the first half, but Bucklin made a push in the second half to win.
Bucklin outscored the Tigers 25-5 in the third quarter to take the lead.
Pawnee Heights was led by Chad Wallace, who finished with eight points.
Isaac Vasquez scored a game-high 17 points for Bucklin.
