EL DORADO  — The Great Bend High School Panthers swim team had another successful swim meet in El Dorado on Friday, where they finished in first place by 131 points.
The Panthers won all three relays, including a state-qualifying time in the 400-yard freestyle relay set by Ian Sheppard, Kort Cook, Kade Cook and Justin Kuhlman.
“We swept the relay events, and  I was really pleased with out “B” relays,” Great Bend head coach Steve Beaumont said. “They continue to work hard and turned in some great relay splits.”
Beaumont said that he was pleased with Ky Heeke’s performance, including a second-place finish in the 200 freestyle, a third-place finish in the 500 freestyle and a vital part of the Panthers’ “B” relays.
“Ky Heeke had an outstanding meet for us in the distance freestyle events,” Beaumont said. “He just continues to improve every race.”
The Panthers also continue to get quality races from Dylan Dreiling and Ian Sheppard.
“Dylan Dreiling and Ian Sheppard both swam well for us and Justin Kuhlman continues to swim solidly for us wherever we put him,” Beaumont said.
