Tuesday night, the Claflin Junior High school girls’ basketball team traveled to Victoria to take on the Squires.
In “A” team action, the Wildcats defeated Victoria, 52-19.
Bre Schartz led Claflin in scoring with 18 points, plus grabbed eight rebounds and blocked seven shots.
Reagan Phelan added 12 points for Claflin.
Abby Stueder had a great game defensively with six steals while providing two points, four boards and three assists.
Julie Demel led the team with 10 rebounds and scored 10 points.
In “B” team play, Claflin defeated the Squires, 26-12.
Kaycee Steiner scored eight points to lead Claflin’s “B” team. Kylee Girard added seven.
Kaylyn Oberle, Kendi Maxwell and Annie Potter provided four, four and three points to finish the scoring for the team.

Cardinal Classic
The Hoisington Jr. Cardinal Classic will be held on Friday, Dec. 11, at the Hoisington Activity Center.
Weigh in will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 10, and from 6:30 to 8 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 11, at the Activity Center.
Deadline for entry is today.
Entry fee is $15 per wrestler. It is non-refundable. Fees must accompany wrestlers’ entries. There will be no weight changes after today. Entries may be emailed to mandyjurban@yahoo.com.
Medals will be awarded for first, second, third and fourth places and to all non-placing wrestlers in 6-and-under division.
