LARNED — The Santa Fe Trail Center is hosting Dr. Jerry “Doc Rock” Simmons from the Heart of America Research Center in Haviland for a workshop on archaeology, including identifying rocks and artifacts on Saturday, Nov. 4, from 1-4 p.m. All ages are welcome. 

Dr. Simmons earned his doctorate in multicultural childhood science education from the University of New Mexico. He has taught science at the high school and middle school levels from 16 years and at the college level for 20 years. He and his wife Linda reside in Haviland, where he is full-time curator of the Heart of America museum.
