Mollie Hale Carter, President & CEO of Sunflower Bank, a regional community bank, is pleased to announce the appointment of Jim Haines, Jr. of Lawrence to the bank’s board of directors.
Mr. Haines joins the board with a long history of professional accomplishments and community involvement. Haines is currently a Director of Allette, Inc. and a Clark Distinguished Professor of Business at Washburn University. He began his career as Assistant Attorney General in Missouri after graduating from law school at the University of Missouri and, shortly thereafter, began a distinguished career in the utility industry. Before retiring in 2007, he was CEO and Director of Westar Energy.

Mr. Haines is also a well-known as a lecturer and educator in the areas of executive education, strategic planning, business ethics, and electric energy policy.
