HILLSBORO — Hoisington's Brody Rossman and Layton Hoffman each won two events to spark the Cardinals to a third-place finish with 100 points at Thursday's Central Kansas League track and field meet.

Rossman swept the 1,600 meters (4:38.06) and 3,200 meters (10:12.14) both with season-best times.

Hoffman captured the CKL shot put (51-5) and discus (156-10).

Hoisington's returning state qualifier Taylen Morales captured the pole vault (14-0) and placed runner-up in the 110-meter hurdles (15.35) with a season-best time.

Larned's Lane Elam finished runner-up in the 300-meter hurdles (40.8) with a season-best time.

GIRLS DIVISION — Larned's Cara Herbert led the Indians with first-place finishes in the 100-meter hurdles (15.23) and 300-meter hurdles (49.31).

Larned's Cammy Upson placed second In the shot put (33-11).

State runner-up Marley Bittel continues to shine behind Hesston's 3A state champion Ashley Lehman with runner-up finishes in the 100 (12.1) and 200 (26.42).

Hoisington's other runner-up medalists were 300-hurdler Tianna Lutters (49.41) with a season-best time; discus thrower Addison Hanzlick (109-7); 800-meter runner Kinsley Wilkens (2:27.0) with a season-best time and high jumper Keslynn Adee (5-4) with a CKL record and season-best effort.
