The law firm of Watkins Calcara Chtd. in Great Bend announced Jeffrey Kuhlman has joined the firm as an associate attorney.

Kuhlman is a western Kansas native who grew up in Ness City. He went to Kansas State University and earned a bachelor’s degree in history. After graduating from K-State, he went on to earn his law degree, cum laude, in 2015 from Antonin Scalia Law School at George Mason University in Arlington, Va.

After law school, Kuhlman returned to Kansas and was honored by his selection to serve a prestigious two-year term as a judicial law clerk for United States District Court Judge Eric F. Melgren in Wichita. There, he gained invaluable experience in all phases of the law. Following his clerkship, Kuhlman worked as a litigation associate at Hinkle Law Firm in Wichita for several years, where he litigated a wide variety of cases and appeared in courtrooms across the state.

At Watkins Calcara, his practice will focus on a wide array of civil litigation, including municipal law, constitutional law, commercial disputes, and personal injury.

Jeff and his wife Lauren, who is originally from Albert, have four young children and are happy in their new home in Great Bend. Lauren is also a Kansas State graduate who worked as an accountant for Koch Industries in both Virginia and Wichita before deciding to be a full-time mother and homemaker.

Mark Rondeau, one of the senior members of the firm, said, “We couldn’t be more pleased to have Jeff join our firm. He is extremely bright and personable and has an exceptional skill set. He is a perfect fit for us and for our community. We are fortunate he and his family saw the benefits of coming home to the life and opportunities found here.”
