Jeffrey M. Kuhlman

The law firm of Watkins Calcara Chtd. in Great Bend announces Jeffrey M. Kuhlman has become a shareholder “partner” in the firm.

A native of Ness City, Kuhlman earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Kansas State University before attending the Antonin Scalia Law School at George Mason University in Arlington, Virginia. He graduated from law school, cum laude, in 2015.

After law school, he returned to Kansas and was honored by his selection to serve a prestigious two-year term as a judicial law clerk for United States District Court Judge Eric F. Melgren in Wichita. Following his clerkship, Kuhlman worked as a litigation associate in a large Wichita law firm, appearing in courtrooms across the state until the opportunity to join Watkins Calcara and return to Western Kansas arose in 2020. At Watkins Calcara, Kuhlman’s practice focuses on civil litigation, including municipal law, constitutional law, commercial disputes, and personal injury.

Outside of work, Jeff’s time is filled with his wife, Lauren, and their four young children Elsie, Madeline, Lucy, and Oliver. In his free time – which is sparse due to the four young children – he enjoys reading, cheering on the K-State Wildcats and Chicago Cubs, playing golf, and hunting. Kuhlman is also active in the Prince of Peace Catholic Parish in Great Bend.

Allen Glendenning, managing shareholder of the firm, said, “We are delighted that their roots drew Jeff and his wife back to this part of the state and even more delighted that he has decided to sink those roots deeper by joining us as a shareholder. The addition of Jeff and the skills and experience he brings to our community, is good for Watkins and Calcara, good for Great Bend and good for central Kansas.”

Kuhlman can be contacted at Watkins Calcara Chtd., 1321 Main, Great Bend, 620-792-8231.
