In just five short years, Nex-Tech Wireless has become a leader amongst rural wireless carriers. Upon launching service on Oct. 15th Nex-Tech Wireless brought a leading-edge nationwide network to residents in Central and Western Kansas. They recognized the need for wireless coverage and service that is typically offered in large cities. Since their beginning, Nex-Tech Wireless has always kept their focus on three things—their customer, technology and the communities they serve. With a customer base of nearly 50,000 voice and data users, Nex-Tech Wireless employs over 80 employees and services customers in over 40 locations.
“The past five years have been an incredible testimony of what can happen when a group works together to achieve the goals laid before them. We have a committed board of managers and an incredible team of employees that truly desires to offer the best service around to our customers,” stated Johnie Johnson, Chief Executive Officer for Nex-Tech Wireless.
To achieve this goal, Nex-Tech Wireless has implemented an aggressive network expansion plan by placing towers extensively throughout their serving area. Additionally, they have introduced new technologies including: nationwide 3G high speed mobile data network, enhanced data and calling services, and the latest devices including BlackBerry smartphones and Android devices. Nex-Tech Wireless has kept the community at the forefront of their business model and the School Rebate Program is a testament to this. Through the program, which is offered exclusively by Nex-Tech Wireless, over $100,000 has been donated to local schools.
Nex-Tech Wireless looks forward to expanding its service area in the next year into the counties of Jewell, Republic, Cloud, Mitchell, Ottawa and parts of Saline and McPherson. In addition, Nex-Tech Wireless will extend the southern end of their current footprint into parts of Pratt and Reno counties.
